From confused >>
>> to cooperative
You believe in patience & compassion.
You don’t want to use force.
You don’t want restraint to be your default.
And yet…
⚠️ Your horse tolerates injections, but you see the tension building
⚠️ Hoof handling works… until it suddenly doesn’t
⚠️ Deworming feels like negotiation
⚠️ You’re unsure whether your horse is truly consenting, or just complying
⚠️ You worry that one stressful vet visit could undo months of trust
"I cannot say enough about Katerina’s cooperative care training course. The focused, slow, and steady approach that Katerina teaches has helped my horse and me move to the next level in our R+ training.
I have been working with Penny using positive reinforcement for over five years but have still always struggled with full-body touch and consent-based physical care. The stepwise approach, with regular video feedback and support, has really allowed me to achieve a new level of communication with my horse.
I have seen so much more acceptance and calmness from Penny, not just with me but also with her farrier and body worker. Finally, getting to work with a community of R+ horse owners/trainers is such a wonderful and rewarding experience."

Become a person horses want to say YES to!
Learn how to motivate your horses (equines) to actively participate in their care & training.
...this is exactly what this program is going to teach you
Over 12 weeks, you’ll learn how to:
✅Train clear start-button behaviours
✅Build true consent for touch and handling
✅Prepare for procedures like deworming, injections, hoof care, spray, and clipping
✅Recognize subtle signs of disengagement before they escalate
✅Replace restraint with systematic training
This is not a quick-fix course.
It is a step-by-step framework grounded in learning theory, welfare science, and practical application.
"This course really took away my fear about medical training.
I was worried that cooperative care was some complicated system to teach and I’ll need to memorise a lot. Which would’ve been hard as a neurodivergent person who also works fulltime.
But upon the start of the Cooperative Care Kick-Start, I was put at ease by Kateřina. Her PowerPoint are nicely designed, so you always know where she’s at. She explains every topic in depth, starting with the basics so even with no prior knowledge, you’ll be able to follow along. There are also training videos of her which really help understanding what she’s talking about.
Questions are always welcomed and explained thoroughly, so you’ll be able to use the information right away. Her video feedback is also detailed and constructive. She’ll praise the good, point out what didn’t go well and give you options what to do next time. That way you know exactly how to continue. Even as a leaser, you’ll still make progress and will not be stressed at any time.
My lease horse, who reacted with nipping at the start, when he wasn’t comfortable being touched, can simply step away because he understands consent. It’s just much more fun and relaxed."
~ Mahnoor

FAQ
Is this program suitable for beginners?
Absolutely. Whether you're brand new to cooperative care or already exploring positive reinforcement, this program is designed to guide you step by step. You’ll learn the theory and get clear, practical training exercises that build real-life skills — no prior experience needed.
How much time will I need each week?
You’ll need about 2-3 hours per week to follow the lessons and try the practical exercises. You can train in short sessions (5–10 minutes a day is enough!) and fit the learning around your schedule. You also get replay access in case you fall behind — no pressure, no deadlines. But: the more you commit to practicing, the better the results.
What support will I get during the program?
As a live student, you’ll receive:
- Weekly live teaching calls (9 calls + 3 integration weeks), including theory, practical examples/demos, and Q&As
- Personalized feedback on your training videos
- Access to a private, supportive student community
You're not doing this alone — you’ll be surrounded by like-minded equestrians who care about compassion and science, just like you. - Whenever you feel like you need more support, you can schedule a 1:1 consultation (for a discounted price)
How long do I have access to the course?
You’ll have unlimited access to all lesson recordings and materials, so you can review them as many times as you like.
Live support (Q&As + feedback) is active during the 12-week program.
Is there going to be a certificate of completion?
YES! After finishing this coaching program, you will be given a certificate of completion.
What if I´m unable to attend the live sessions?
All live sessions will be recorded and uploaded to your student portal within 24 hours. You can watch the replays at any time — and still submit your training videos for feedback! Live sessions will happen in the evenings, and the time zone will be CET.
What if my horse is on stall rest or has an injury?
This program is perfect for horses on stall rest — cooperative care training is calm, low-impact, and mentally enriching. You’ll learn exercises that help prevent frustration and boredom while preparing your horse for future care procedures.
What if my horse is terrified of the vet/farrier? Is this program still suitable?
Yes — these are exactly the horses who benefit the most.
We’ll take everything step by step, starting with building calmness, predictability, and choice. You don’t begin with the scary procedure — you begin with skills that make your horse feel safe. You’ll learn how to read their early signs of stress and how to adjust your sessions so training stays ethical and effective.
What if I’m scared of doing something wrong?
I will guide you step by step, and you’ll receive feedback if you choose the live version.
You’ll also learn how to:
- break behaviors into tiny safe steps
- avoid common mistakes
- create a predictable training environment
- stay within your horse’s emotional threshold
This is an ethical, slow, gentle approach — mistakes are expected, and we learn from them.
Can I do this with a young horse, retired horse, or a horse who isn’t ridden?
Yes! Cooperative care is not riding-focused — it is welfare-focused.
It’s perfect for:
- youngsters (safe early handling)
- retirees (health monitoring)
- stall rest horses (the best enrichment!)
- companion horses
- horses who need confidence
Every horse benefits from participating in their own care.
Can I join if I don’t own a horse?
Yes — this program is also suitable for equine professionals (vets, physios, grooms, trainers) or people who regularly handle horses at work or in lease/loan situations. However, to get the maximum out of this program, it is highly recommended to have an equine to practice cooperative care with.
Can I join if I don’t want to switch to 100% R+?
Yes! You do not need to change your entire training approach. Cooperative care works beautifully alongside many training methods. After this course, you might see a better connection with your equines even outside your cooperative care training.
What if I change my mind after enrolling?
If you decide this course isn’t right for you, you can request a full refund within 7 days of the program start.
No risk, no guilt — just give it a try and see how it feels.
Is this course only for horses? Or also for donkeys / mules?
Even if every equine is an individual, the basic principles work the same way for all of them. You can absolutely join this program with a donkey, mule, or hinny. After all, I own a mule colt myself, so you will definitely see videos of him training.
All equines´ friendly training program! Approved by Merlin the mule :)
